Program Offering

Format:

Free one-on-one after-school mentoring with trained volunteer mentors from high school or universities — they are bright, creative, and committed, but are not teachers. An Executive Coordinator and a Program Coordinator, both senior volunteers, are present at all sessions to lead and assist both mentors and buddies. All volunteers are trained by our team of BC certified teachers, who also support our mentors and coordinators with delivering high-quality mentoring sessions throughout the term.

Location:

All participants are together with two coordinators and a maximum of 8 mentors at a group location such as the school library or designated Zoom meeting room. Group activities are included in the tutoring program as well.

Time:

Our online sessions take place every Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-4:45pm or 5:35-6:20pm. During the summer term, our online sessions take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:40-11:00 am or 5:10-6:40pm. In-person program times vary depending on individual sites. Please see School Partnerships for a complete list of sites.

We offer 2 terms every year: Fall-Spring term (mid-October to mid-December, February to mid-May) and Summer term (July to mid-August).
