Program Formats

In-person

The Learning Buddies Network provides and facilitates the reading and math programs through their youth volunteers when on the premises.

We have Program Coordinators in place for each program who lead their team of volunteer student mentors.

We also have an appointed Executive Coordinator who oversees the LBN program site and is the main contact for the Site Sponsor.

Online

Learning Buddies Network also offer an online option. Programs are run online via Zoom and follow a similar structure as the in-person program.

Site Sponsor Roles & Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

In-person and Online Site Sponsors carry some different responsibilities. Please refer to the lists below for a more thorough walk-through of the roles.

    • Facilitate the referral of students to our program from the classroom or resource teacher.

    • Ensure that you or a staff member is on-site for the duration of the program for all sessions

    • Inform the Site Coordinator if a child will be absent

    • Inform LBN’s Executive Director if any events impact the running of the program (Pro-D days, fundraiser events, parent-teacher conferences, or early dismissal days).

    • Ensure there is a process in place for getting the participating students to the LBN program on time. If a student will be arriving before the program starts, ensure that they have the appropriate supervision until then.

      • LBN will escort children to their documented caregivers at the end of the program.

    • Provide any information or feedback that could improve the running of the program to LBN

    • Facilitate the referral of students from the classroom or resource teacher.

    • Communicate directly with families about the program and direct parents to our online registration portal.

    • Inform teaching staff of the Learning Buddies Network programs.

Be the main point of contact and communication between LBN and your school/organization

Contact LBN’s Executive Director at any time during the programs to discuss any issues or concerns or just for an update. LBN will check in with you either in person or by email as well.

Communicate directly with families about the program and direct parents to our online registration portal.
