Who are we?
Learning Buddies Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping elementary school students develop essential literacy and math skills through free one on one, after school mentoring in a fun group setting. We reach children who otherwise would not have the help they need. Our goals are to enhance self-esteem through improvement in academic skills, and to ignite a passion for learning in a safe and caring environment.

Check for your child’s eligibility
Our programs are meant for students who are performing below Grade expectations. We prioritize families who may not be in a position to provide home-based or additional support for their children. We accept children in:
Reading Buddies: Grades 1-5
Math Buddies: Grades 3-5
Grade 6 and 7 students performing below Grade expectations are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Grade 1 students are not accepted until January of their Grade 1 school year.
Note: Children with highly challenging or disruptive behaviours or very specialized learning needs may benefit from a more specialized program than LBN. We have had success with children on the spectrum, and we do take them on a temporary basis to see if they would have success in our programs.
