Today we visited the school in Rivers Inlet, met with teaching staff in the community, and met with High School students to share UBC RuralEMentoring opportunities. We even got a chance to ride on the school bus! Thank you Andrena, Grace, Sarah and Miranda! We look forward to working together.
We also met with the Director of Education Liz-Eli and Councillor Miranda to brainstorm an in-person pilot program involving Elders starting next Spring. We are looking forward to supporting this program inlP community.
Deanna took us medicine harvesting in the evening then we met with Chief Councillor Marlou Shaw. Thank you for the warm welcome, Marlou!
