Connecting with schools in Gitxsan territory

Today was a full day of school visits and conversations in Gitxsan territory!

We visited Gitksen West Secondary School (GWSS) and connected with educators and staff to learn more about the opportunities and challenges facing students in the region.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Wilp Si Wilaxsinsxw Hl Simgigyet School, meet with the Gitwangak Education Society, and visit Majagaleehl Gali Aks Elementary School. We look forward to coming back to these communities in late November.

It has been especially meaningful to hear directly from educators and community members about the needs of local students. We are excited to explore how Learning Buddies Network and Rural eMentoring BC can work alongside schools and communities to strengthen educational support for children and youth.
