From Klemtu to Bella Bella

The LBN and Rural eMentoring BC team met with the School Board at the Kitasoo Community School in the morning then presented to high school students in Klemtu. We enjoyed a lovely lunch with members of community and council at the Kitasoo Xai’xais Health Centre. Thank you to Tiffany and Jessie for a delicious lunch, and to Rolene from the Kitasoo Xai'xais Resource Stewardship Authority Office for helping us with accommodations.

We then flew with Helicopters Without Borders to Bella Bella where we attended the school's Open House. Thank you to Bernd and Mason for getting us there safely. Congratulations to Principal Brent and Vice Principal Sharon on a truly wonderful and successful Open House!

Our partnership with Rural eMentoring BC

Learning Buddies Network and Rural eMentoring BC are working together to build lasting relationships with rural and Indigenous communities and strengthen mentoring opportunities for children and youth. Our shared aim is to connect support across the learning journey - from elementary reading and math mentoring to youth leadership and guidance toward post-secondary education.

We begin by listening. Through community conversations, we create opportunities to connect, learn about local priorities and explore what meaningful support could look like.

Communities guide whether and how a partnership develops, at their own pace and in keeping with local protocols. These relationships will guide our future direction as we work together to support children and youth.
